The Harvester is designed to work in Alaska!  It handles a small motor, and cruises around 12 mph with exceptional fuel economy. The ability to portage sets this canoe apart from other options on the market. Due to the narrow beam, paddling it is quite enjoyable in spite of its size.  The Harvester specializes in going anywhere with very little effort. The heavy duty layup with replaceable skid plates makes a highly durable hull. With oversized air tanks, it is unsinkable with most loads..0

Layups

ultralight
(durability 1)

Our ultralight layup is our lightest (and least durable) layup. It is intended for lakes and rock free environments. It's great for lake hopping or racing.  It consists of  two layers of woven carbon with a foam core floor. If you're not intent on saving ounces while using extreme care please consider our mid-weight layup.

mid-weight
(durabilty 2)

Our mid-weight layup is our standard recommendation for most canoes and paddlers.  It's up for the occasional bounce off a rock or sweeper. High centering a heavily loaded canoe on a sharp rock in fast current probably won't end well, though. This layup has a 9 oz layer of our favorite fabric, woven basalt innegra, one layer of woven carbon, and one layer of woven high strength S fiberglass. It also has a foam core sandwiched into the layup in the floor for lightweight rigidity. If heavy loads, strong currents, or big rocks are your thing, you may want to look at our rock crusher layup.
Our rock crusher layup won't actually crush rocks (Yes, we tried!), but a sledge hammer won't crush it.  This layup is great for recreational white water runs, and is recommended for our Harvester.  Replaceable skid plates are available and not a bad idea for some applications. This layup has several 9 oz layers of basalt innegra, woven carbon, and an exterior layer of high strength S fiberglass. We do not put a foam core in the floor of this layup, which provides additional flexibility for sliding over the unseen and unexpected.
